Thomas Etzkorn

Thomas Etzkorn is an alumnus of SUNY New Paltz, class of 2021. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Digital Media Production and two minors: Creative Writing and Film & Video Studies.

From an early age, Thomas has exhibited a keen interest in filmmaking. In elementary school, he was constantly making short movies with his families' Mini DV camcorder and showing them to friends and relatives. He would eventually begin his interest in digital videography in middle school, creating a Youtube channel with his friends that would regularly upload comedic skits and parodies.

 

In college, Thomas began to realize the potential of filmmaking as a form of artistic expression.

Thomas is a voracious moviegoer. He is deeply interested in the communal aspects of motion pictures and strongly supports local movie theatres.

 

"Movies are a medium that really can bring people together! I think we could lose a lot if movie theatres were to disappear." -Thomas Etzkorn

 

He also values the preservation and study of film.

He is currently a student with the David Lynch Screenwriting program at Maharishi International University.
